The Boat Launch
The little boys decided to build a boat today...using a sled which they balanced on two old moving dolly wheels and tied together with some really fat rope... they carted it down to the pond on the little red wagon to see if it would float. Littleman was the brave volunteer who tested it out . I held onto the 'anchor rope' that they had cleverly attached to make sure no one floated out too far. Although there was apparantly no chance of that happening as it sunk very quickly, giving Littleman a chilly dip in the muddy pond water :0)
Although it was unsuccessful they did a lot of testing and figuring as they were building...they worked on the patio next to my cow trough rain collection tank, so they could test things out and see what floated best. There was all kinds of hypothesizing, testing, and discussion during the building.
While they were hard at work I planted some native plants that I picked up yesterday and enjoyed cleaning up the garden a bit in today's beautiful weather...and we discovered the crocuses we planted a while back have started to peek up through the dirt! Very exciting.
posted a few backblips on some pics I forgot to post
