take your children to the opera, a good idea?

this afternoon we went to see Akhnaten at the opera house, this modern opera by Philip Glass is perhaps not the best one to stir their interest. They did like it, even though some  parts were a little difficult. But they sat quiet till the end and enjoyed it more than I expected. Costumes were by famous Belgian designer Walter Van Beirendonck, who also has a line for children (zulupapuwa) that they used to wear, so they knew that (you need something to convince them) . Fleur and I enjoyed it a lot, it is special and highly recommended.
