Carnaby Street
Today I visited an Elvis collectors fair in Great Portland street, after which I took a short walk down to Carnaby Street.
Carnaby Street used to be the height of fashion in the 60's, and even I can remember visiting there a lot in the 80's where most shots would cater for the Mods and Skinheads with stores selling Ben Shermans, Fred Perrys, sta-press trousers & Dr. Martens ...oh and and a few decent record shops.
Nowadays the street doesn't attract or cater for the same type of market, it is mainly aimed at tourists - but you will still find the odd (!!) types who think they are fashion gurus.
I couldn't work out whether this guy thought he was being very fashionable or if he was just extremely 'camp'.
Maybe both. Who knows?
