The Cill, Caher
The day shone bright and breezy and it was a blipmeet. A select gathering of the West Cork massive, fuelled on pittas and cheese and salad, we sallied forth to Trá Ruaim. We walked around the headland, disturbing another photographer already perched up high - how delighted he must have been to see five of us appearing through the blonde grass. Across pebbly strands, down little green ways, passing the ruins of the horse doctor's house and down to the pier at Dooneen where out in the bay we saw two dolphins fishing for their supper. This little burial ground commands wonderful views across the bay, enclosed by stone walls. The little grave markers are mossy and nameless, the resting place of the poor, and possibly the unbaptised. It fits in well with youorgeon1's sundaycemetery challenge.
