Reed Bunting
A quick whizz around Cromwell Bottom in late afternoon produced sightings of blue tits, great tits and bulfinches, but this little chap caught my eye and I had to look it up when I got home to identify it. I cannot recall having seen one before - certainly not at such close quarters. The habitat is exactly right for reed buntings. A poster at the bird hide suggested that there had been sightings of arctic redpolls but there was no sign of one today.
