... and ready to go. The Ilford HP5+ arrived this morning (kudos to Amazon Prime; I only placed the order yesterday evening) and I tapped into some long unused memory to load the film. I'd forgotten how good the focussing is on the K-m: there's a micro-prism circle in the centre that acts kind of like focus peaking.
I was thinking what a shame it was that modern DSLRs didn't have this feature. Except they do - kind of. People like katzeyeoptics will sell you a replacement focussing screen. Even better it turns out that the Pentax DSLRs are designed to have user-swappable screens! I think I know what my next buy is going to be...
In other news: +1/2 was out running, I did some work on the London guitar (electrics just about done: swapped the bridge pickup, swapped the pots so that I have push-pull tap and phase reverse), some small horses were painted by +2/3 and +3/3 and Top Gear is now on.
