Lambing Day

We've had a fab day at the farm today. It was the annual lambing event and P has been excited all week.

We arrived shortly after 11 and it was already very busy. P wanted to head straight to the animals so we went to see the cows, geese, chickens and pigs before heading inside the barns. Once inside P was lucky enough to hold a teeny tiny chick. It was a wriggly little fella and I had to catch it a few times as it tried to escape!

In the big barn all the newborn lambs were on show and the farmer was was giving a very informative talk about life on the farm. P did some colouring and made a sheep mask and a tractor picture in the craft corner before we went outside again. We were then lucky to see one of the farmers' sons with a lamb that the children were able to hold. P was very good with it and tried to feed it some hay.

It was then time for a picnic as we were all feeling quite peckish. It came over quite dark as we were finishing our sandwiches, so went for a look at the tractors and then dashed back to the car just before the heavens opened!

We stopped in at kiddicare on the way home and picked up a new car seat for P and me and Mr J had a well earned coffee break.
