At Home: New friends....

Battle commenced with the garden this weekend.The winter had well and truly roughed up the potential of a decent spring chill out in the sun.  So the children and I set too lawn mowing, fixing raised beds, sowing seeds, weeding borders and then laying out on the newly cut grass to identify cloud shapes in the sky. It was then that Sam came up with the bright idea of de sludging the pond to make way for his Goldfish.

It seemed that the stagnant pond was more lively than expected. These two friends  came to the surface. Newts and other frogs flicked through the brown sludge.  "Its a wildlife pond then" says Sam smiling, filling up the pond back up. I think these are much more interesting than Goldfish anyway.
