Brightling Needle

My first cycling blip and my first outing on the bike for well over a year.
Injured calf means I can't run so the bike has come out earlier this year. It was a lovely spring morning, but by the time I set off the best weather had gone.
Nevertheless, it was great to be out on the bike again, even though it nearly killed me.
It wasn't a very long ride, about 20 miles, but it was a little hilly. Brightling Needle — or the Obelisk —is one of Mad Jack Fuller's many follies around Brightling. This is widely reported around the web as being the second highest point in East Sussex, which is actually nonsense; there quite a few points higher points than this 187m (just goes to show how inaccurate info spreads around the web). Regardless, it's a great spot to be and marks a satisfying first ride of the year.
