IKEA
We went to that store which gives its products Swedish names - which sound odd to us. But not to them obviously as they originated in Sweden. Our purpose was to buy a Poang rocking chair with footstool with leather cushions. We were successful in that objective but as always happens in this store you also come away with items you didn't know you wanted. For example, a shoe rack on a coathanger. It'll prove useful I'm sure, when we can find a space in the garage to hang it.
The store opened at 11.00am, although when we arrived it was already heaving. They serve 6 item breakfasts for £1.99 (well, that was what is said on the way in - in the store it said they were £2.25) These were. as you can imaging, very popular. We had a coffee and a cinnamon swirl. Susan's coffee was OK but I had to make do with an instant decaff. Total bill, £2.90 for which you couldn't even buy a small cup of coffee in a motorway service station.
Back home with our booty for lunch, then there time for a walk in daylight around the golf course and the Woodland Trust. Time to assemble the chair and footstool. Very easy too, about 25 minutes for both.
This shot was taken along an interminable long corridor to the toilets in Ikea. Mind you, it's a good place to display all their mirrors. There was someone reflected in one of the mirrors, you can just see her left foot going out of view. I was hoping to include her in the shot with the various toilet signs but she obviously thought better of it.
