Feasting

G went back to work today after over a week off!! I went back to work after a weekend as normal! The day passed nicely enough. I recently got a small promotion at work and as colleagues demanded a treat, I took in home-made banana cake, date and oatmeal slice and raspberry and coconut slice! :) All deliciously prepared by the Head Chef at #13 Karama.

The evening though is really what the day will be remembered for. Last year I won a meal for two in the office Christmas raffle. It was close to expiry so we finally booked ourselves in to use the voucher - to dine at a restaurant which is close to work; in fact, it is just off the exhibition halls!

Got there to be told that the "dinner for two" meant we could order literally anything from the a la carte menu (or in other words - whatever we felt constitutes dinner)! Well! I never expected that!!

So, us being us (i.e. girls with small appetites), we shared a starter, had a main course each, and then were going to share a dessert and cheese platter except the waiter brought out a dessert and fruit platter. No problem. It was all awesome and we felt very thrilled privileged to be at the receiving end of such a generous offer! So much so, I thought I'd make it worth the restaurants while, and ordered a glass of wine each... the size that equates to a third of the bottle. G was almost singing walking back to the car! ;)

No seriously, we felt quite sick full towards the end having eaten so much. A return trip is already planned.
