My Friend Stan
We had a very intensive morning with the Ranters, Levellers, Diggers, Seekers, Baptists, Anabaptists, Fifth Monarchy Men and various other religious sects and political groupings of the 1600s. The one I liked the most was called The Family of Love - as someone remarked, they sounded more like a 60s pop group! Anyway, after all that I felt in need of a bit of light relief, so I walked down into Ulverston to buy some Cumberland sausage to take home tomorrow. While I was there, I also took this photo of the statue of Stan Laurel outside the Coronation Hall theatre; he was born in Ulverston on 16 June 1890.
