If not the coldest then today has got to have been the most unpleasant site day of the year so far. As the day progressed the ground below my feet changed from slushy wet snow to slippy wet grass and the burns around me, in response to the snow melt and sustained driving rain, appeared to come up a foot in a couple of hours.
