Today's Thoughts

Cutie!!!

Today after class, my family and I visited a farm. This guy (or gal, not sure which... I'll just assume he's a guy to make writing the description easier) lives on the farm. His name is Sweater, haha! What a great name :)

Sweater let me pet him on the head, and he seemed to really like it. I haven't been around animals much. Normally my principle is No Kissing Animals, but when I pet Sweater and he looked up at me with a face that looked like he was going to fall asleep from feeling so comfortable, I really wanted to plant one on him and hug him tight <3

If you haven't noticed, sheeps' pupils are horizontals slits. Deer have this kind of pupil too. These pupils are very useful for herbivores that live on plains as they use their eyes to keep a lookout for predators. Horizontal pupils give them a wider field of view, whereas predators often have roundpupils. Because they are hunters, they generally don't have to worry about being hunted. They stare straight ahead at their prey while they stalk or chase them down.
