Off to Work Now Dear...

...look after the duck.

The water was like glass this morning.  I watched this trio for a while before one flew off, looking for all the world like he was off to the office, leaving Mum and the duck at home.

It was an odd trio. I wondered if the duck had bonded in someway with the pied stilts because, wherever one stilt went, the duck  trundled along behind - often at a run to keep up. If the stilt zig-zagged to get away, then so did the duck, right behind. I have heard of geese being imprinted perhaps this duck is too.

The natural world is a curious place.
