Patina

This is the first step in patina....applying potash, or liver of sulphur, to get the underlying areas dark. That gives a piece more dimension and depth in the final color. The bust on the right is just in from the sand - blaster and is a dull gold....the true shade of bronze. The left piece has had its potash applied and scrubbed away; the highlight areas are clean.
