Chiaroscuro Giraffe

The term 'chiaroscuro' came up on Come Dine With Me yesterday, and reminded me of my final year project and trip to Venice. My tutor recommended I read In Praise of Shadows, an essay by Tanizaki Jun'ichirō, about the role of light and darkness in Japanese aesthetics. Sounds pretentious I know, but it was really interesting. My project design was all about contrast.
