Reeds in the dyke

I spent the day covering holiday absence at work and sorting out the spares department.  That is a grand description for the clock graveyard and cupboards that stock orphaned old movements and clock bits.  I have succumbed to pressure, for although the 'graveyard' is occasionally very useful, it takes up valuable space and is not in keeping with the smart side of the shop.  Those who believe it lowers the tone have won a famous victory!  In a stunning rearguard action, I was able to convince them that room could be found for two smart storage boxes for the most useful and valuable old parts.
