Great spotted woodpecker

I have nt seen the woodpecker for a while but today I spotted her tapping away in one of the trees. Pieces of loose bark were falling to the ground as her long beak poked about underneath.
I had the camera ready and she flew down and warily hopped along the fence. She did nt stay long and soon flew off.

Busy at Brownies making Mothers day cards and items from clay, including cay hearts and a few bowls etc. Hopefully it will all dry by Sunday.
The girls also dressed up as a book character including a pirate, Pippa long stocking, an Umpa Lumpa and Matilda. Most of the girls enjoyed reading Jacqueline Wilson books. All enjoyed reading.
