The (Slightly Tatty) Golden Lion

We went to Northallerton today with our daughter and granddaughter and met up with Mrs madwill's mother.

Had coffee and a teacake in the department store restaurant and then wandered around the shops. It was lovely and sunny.

We stopped at the Golden Lion for our lunch and afterwards I took this shot of the statue over the hotel entrance porch - it seem to be glowing with the sun picking it out against the dark grey sky. When you look at the statue you can see bits of the paint are peeling away - it needs some TLC.

It was camera club this evening and the results of the chairman's challenge - the theme was 'Shapes, Lines and Patterns'. Very pleased to say that this shot of mine was runner up in the 'club class projected image' category! They split the group into Club/Advanced members for competitions - and when you are deemed good enough you are moved up to Advanced - so I have a way to go yet!
