Now we wait for the sun
I knew I'd need to be back early from Monty's walk today, so was out a little after 6.30 to give him the chance to wear of a load of energy before the solar installation team arrived. So imagine my surprise when they all turned up at 7.30, demanding tea and coffee!
Apart from a slight change of plan on the layout, apparently the quotation chap's tape measure is a more optimistic than the installers and two panels would overhang next door. The installation went very well and we even had 1.3kW from 50% of the panels mid afternoon (then the sun went in), not bad for March. The sparky did an amazing job, scouting a cable route that avoided any visible cables and got the invertor in the garage roof space.
So now it's all wired up and we have a clamp meter on the generation and usage, that has 10 W resolution, with a 10 second refresh, all wireless and posted on an internet page! So I can walk round the house turning things on and off, seeing what the usage is....K hopes this will wear off soon!
