Into the great wide open....

Well a slight exaggeration but I did hop out into the garden for a bit today to get slightly closer to the bird feeders. The bright sunshine flattered to deceive a little bit as my uncovered toes told me that it's still not that warm.

After sitting quietly for a little the birds appeared to be on the edge of accepting me as a very odd one of their own but then, disaster! Some idiot's mobile phone shattered the piece and scared them all away! Why was I carrying the damned thing?

This chaffinch was about as good as I got but I shall be back tomorrow, weather permitting, with an improvised toe covering and no phone!
