Just this past week the woods have suddenly woken to the sound of intense birdsong.
I've heard lots of woodpeckers during my lunchtime walks, but they're very elusive I've not managed to capture one until today.

It was a very long shot, and the photo is a little blurred, but I like it because it captures the frantic activity of early spring.
