The brambles and other firmly-rooted nuisances that pervade the lower garden (garden areas are slowly evolving consistent names) needed shifting. Not fancying doing it all by hand as there's quite a large area we hired a small digger.
A not-that-small digger arrived.
Apart from the slightly trepidarious trip down the garden (the intended small digger would have fitted through the gateway down the easier slope) it's been rather fun.
Now got a few level bits.
And lots of mess.

While I was diggering, E was hacking back at some more bramble-dead-tree-ivy-sprawl and feeding the bonfire. Now got a few more square yards of garden - not that we really needed them - but the Tree of Snakiness is much less cluttered now.
We've decided that the remaining section of the Path of Mystery lends itself perfectly to dens (for kids of all ages), so we're leaving it as it is.
