Super Saturday
Oh, wall to wall sunshine today, the sun splitting the sky.
I didn't get up too early, calculating my financial worth. Then a quick trip down to the P.O. to send of National Geographic to #1 son and then the rest of the day I was in the garden, in the sun.
And it is looking like a garden now. I wish I'd taken photos when I first started living here in 2009, when I first started doing the garden in 2010 because it is so different and so much better. Now we have plants and fewer weeds and virtually no nettles. Today I finished planting annuals and then moved on to some seeds. Water is a problem, especially in this unrelenting sun (so different from a week ago) but neighbour George very kindly use his hose to fill the water butt. Just as well it's not France where I'd have to pay him for the water.
It wasn't all hard graft though. I spent at least 3 hours lying in the sun, listening to R4 and dozing. Even had lunch down there.
This evening I've been thinking about the future and trying hard not to think about M and TOW off at the Taqa night out at Fyvie - very posh. Been quite good at banishing evil thoughts. But back to my future. Despite the flat makeover and the garden I think I need a house so I spent some time browsing what's out there and what I might get. yes, definitely worth thinking about.
A very quiet night in - no tv, no radio and no music. And no BBQ either.
Grandma's bonnet, columbine. One of my favourite plants and one of my father in law's too.
