Freebird

Didn't venture beyond the back garden all day. Fought the relentless approach of the buttercups - and do you know? They are so hard to photograph, keep getting overexposed white patches instead of their buttery sheen!
The heat was so intense I had to retreat to the cool of the house several times, this allowed the birds to pick over the turned soil. A family of starlings took advantage of this and while they were checking over the grass and I noticed one bolder baby who was doing his own thing. Strange thing just as I noticed him my iPod shuffled onto Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd!

Got the barbecue going for the first time this year and had a proper al fresco dinner, then the midges struck!!!
