Bracketing the shot

You never know what will pop out and catch your eye. This clump of bracket fungus was part of a larger colony that had totally over-run an old Willow stump beside the river. 

I did hope for a decent picture of a windblown oak tree I came across this morning, shattered and scattered beside his still standing partner, but I failed to capture the tragedy to my satisfaction. Another day.
