Valkenburg a/d Geul

With a sense of pride I showed Bert the rebuilt and the renovated gates in the small town Valkenburg. As if I did it myself. But I just love to see the appearance of the city this improved.

Around this time, it is still very quiet in the town, only a few tourists, and we can easily enjoy the reconstructions of the Geul embankment and the park.
But the ruins on top of the mountain is actually the subject in this photo. Which is not rebuilt, but only held in position.
