Night Watch
There was something quite special in dear Terry Pratchett's writing, that much was obvious, but there was also that added ingredient of magic.
I enjoyed many of his books with 'Going Postal' being right up there, but, for me, Night Watch was amazing. It was the funniest book, akin in parts to the mighty Tom Sharpe, and was laced with characters of the highest order. I adored it and it kind of mattered more than the fact that it was a book. It was alive too.
