Terry and Tony
Tonight should be Derelict Thursday but I have other things on my mind.
The wet blanket of Death is all around me.
I was making a birthday present in the forge this morning when my son rang to tell me my old friend Tony Fenton had died. Anto Fagan became Tony Fenton when he launched himself, aged sixteen, into the world of radio djing. To quote my brother in law "I met Tony when he was in his teens and I can honestly say, I never heard him say a bad word about anybody, I don't think I can say that about anyone else I know and I include myself.".... That's some legacy to leave. Tony was kind, generous, respectful of all around him and a great help when my late wife was ill. Will miss you Tony. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
I got a second call in the afternoon to let me know another friend will not see another year and will be lucky if he's taken in the Winter...
Terry Prachett would look at the raindrop in my photo and, before you could chase a gander from under your bed with a big stick, would create a universe of wonder inside that one drop. RIP Terry Prachett.
Tony's favourite song was this.....
Aretha Franklin - I say a little prayer
