Three old friends
This image is not technically wonderful, but it was the best I could manage in Meda and Douglas' tiny living room in their elderly people's flat. They have been friends of ours for many, many years. They were with us, visiting Dad, just hours before he died. They are very special to us. Douglas now has a form of dementia and Meda and their family care for him wonderfully.
Last year they celebrated their 90th and 86th birthdays respectively.
Today we drove Margret to Sunderland Eye Infirmary to have an opinion about her second cataract. While she was there we called to see Eric and Pauline - proud grandparents for the third time. They are planning a trip to Hong Kong to see baby Adam before their 4th grandchild makes his/her appearance in Sunderland.
Then to Meda and Douglas for an hour.
There were a lot of road works on the Western Bypass, so I took the scenic route home through the Elswick and Benwell districts of Newcastle.
Tonight Julie and I saw the NT Live Streaming of Behind the Beautiful Forevers which has been transformed into a stage play. If you have not read Katherine Boo's book, do read it soon.
Streaming was also the description of my nose. I have a streaming cold......
