Wide load
A lovely sunny day, so after playing tetris with my kitchen contents I decided to try and scope out my commute. The photomerge function in photoshop has understandably struggled with this but hopefully you get the gist.
There is a nice traffic free cycle route running past the Meanwood urban farm but unfortunately it is littered with these daft gate things. I think even without the bar ends I wouldn't fit - to get the bars through I had to do a bit of twisting, and the panniers had to breathe in too. No doubt pushchairs and wheelchair would also find it challenging.
The roads were peppered with potholes and so the journey was rather bumpy. I seem to have a problem with the thread on one of the rear rack mounting eyelets, and the screw was bumped out, leaving the rack resting on the mudguard resting on the tyre... Added to the the fact that the 'suggested cycle routes' on the map I had found seemed to involve some daft junctions it wasn't very successful, and I returned home in as simple a manner as I could. More research required.
