Whew! The deer veered off and leapt into the wood!

While out this afternoon I got out of the car  and walked up the road a little way to get a closer look at a small herd of White Tailed Deer grazing on whatever was sticking up through the snow.  One leapt fast down the hillside toward the road, stopped and looked at me, then it seemed she started leaping toward me pretty fast - then, whew, just as I thought I should hair tail it back to the car, she veered to the right and leapt over into the woods.
