Matilda Day 07
We left Albany early this morning calling at the new ANZAC WW1 memorial site. It's at the highest point in the region looking out over the port from where convoys of troops left in 1914. a very poignant beginning to our day.
After stopping for coffee and cake in Denmark the rest of the day was all about trees. Some of the biggest trees I've ever seen!! Just a little way out of Walpole is the 'Valley of Giants' with an amazing tree walk going up to the top of the highest trees in what seems to be a vast forest.
We ended our day at yet another camp site. It was situated by the side of a river surrounded by yet more forest. This kookaburra joined us for our barbecue supper. He was hoping to steal sausages but flew away empty beaked!!
