Slab Builder

We had a slab builder in the studio yesterday and today. The all of the slab builders I have seen don't use a slab roller, rather, they use a large metal pipe and 2 wooden strips of wood placed on the floor or a table to roll out the slabs. He rolled out the slabs yesterday, and today he cut them and put them together. He didn't score them at all, he only used thick slip to attach the pieces. I realized after the fact that he didn't cover them at all and they didn't crack - jerk.
