Baby Baa sheep.

A lot of rain yesterday afternoon and last night. The place is back to glaur every where again.
Went to wash the fert spreader so could use the tractor for mucking out. Guess what, the power washer I got a loan of yesterday DOESN'T WORK either!
Gave it up as a bad job and left one mucking out and one away next door to feed out silage bales for wee brother.
After lunch time, went for 2 loads of silage ready for tomorrow, and took a load of neeps out to the lambing field for the ewes to eat.The lorry delivered a 29 ton load last night. They are washed rejected shopping turnips. Supermarkets only like piddley wee ones ,any thing too big gets sold for stock feed. We used to grow about 40 acres of our own,but the job was a hit and miss affair. Some years you had a bumper crop, some years a disaster. It still cost a fortune in seed and sprays and labour, with no guarantee of a decent crop. It also has become much harder as the choice of sprays for weeds and pests has been vastly reduced thanks to governments banning many of them, without any reliable alternatives being available
So now we just buy what we need. Less hassle all round !
Mind ,it would be even less hassle if we didn't keep sheep !
