Poised for action

Out of inspiration today. Lots of pictures but nothing took my fancy. I was sitting at my desk and suddenly noticed my Anglepoise desklamp. It's been there for years, quietly being a lamp, but I'd never appreciated what a fine piece of engineering it is. So I snapped it. I hardly needed to convert it to monochrome, but decided a selenium tone would improve it, so I did a little work in Silver Efex.
