Belfast
What an amazing day. JP worked in Belfast today so I thought it would be rude not to accompany him! We flew early this morning so were in Belfast city centre by 9.30. I wandered around town, saw some of the amazing painted murals, visited a cathedral, the botanic gardens and had a river side walk.
This evening JP and I then had another wander, a lovely meal in a really unusual restaurant - not at all British ;)-. We then went to The Crown - an amazing National Trust pub. Built to accommodate the pub's more reserved customers during the austere Victorian period, the snugs feature the original gun metal plates for striking matches and an antique bell system for alerting staff. Extra privacy was then afforded by the pub's etched and stained glass windows. There were several little 'stalls' to drink in privacy which was so great!
What a fantastic city!
