Flower Fields

Visited the tulip farm this afternoon with Quinn.

It's still very early in the season, but there were some beautiful varieties in bloom.

Just us and a newspaper reporter in the field. The temperature was mild and there was no wind. Quite peaceful.

Matt and I had a long discussion when we returned. We're both struggling with some tough emotions regarding relationships in the context of big choices we've made together. He felt better afterward and I felt worse. So glad it's Friday!

I think my problem is centered on the idea of giving generously in the spirit of the cause you champion and then feeling taken advantage of. Should we continue to give generously or protect ourselves from the takers? I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, but perhaps that's naive. Do the takers see our perspective at all? Should I bother trying to explain?
