Young shag.
We went up to Havelock late yesterday afternoon, to help put up the tent for our display.
Then back again this morning, getting there at 8.00am. PJ was back at 2.00pm to pick me and one other person up. I could have stayed longer, but it meant that he would have to have made another trip to get me, and that just was getting too much. Two trips to Havelock in the boat, purely for doing voluntary work, plus all the hours there & working, is just a bit over the top.
There were 3 of us there at 8.00am, and there was a whitebait stand behind our stand, so it was Whitebait fritters for breakfast, and the coffee stand was alongside of us. After that we all felt a bit more alive.
As I was leaving, we spotted the Salmon stand selling bagels with salmon and cream cheese - 3 of $15.00, so we got one for PJ as well. They were just yummy.
I don't think they would have the numbers they were expecting this year, as it looked very empty to most of us. Also, a lot of stall holders not there either. We thought that maybe it had clashed with the Hokitika Wild Food Festival.
After dropping off the other person, we stopped at the shag colony, as there are quite a few chicks in the nests, but didn't get any good pictures of them. This was about the only decent photo that I managed to get.
