Relay for Life
Today Marie and I walked in the Survivors and Carers lap in opening of the Cancer Society Relay for Life,we were clapped as we walked with pride and showing there is hope along with the Hundreds of other Survivors. Tonight was moving and emotional for me. Some things are meant to happen, I gave some images to the Cancer Society as this year Timaru celebrates it's 10th relay anniversary. One image was of a Leukemia Patient Rico the Courageous, I tried to locate the family of Rico I went through 4 images to find the full phone number on his Tee shirt but the phone number no longer existed. Two girls walking asked me to take their photo, as I was shooting I was asked if I shot some photo,s of a wee boy 2 years ago,Bingo. Rico, well this girl was his care giver and she told me that Rico is now 5 and goes to school and she also had been looking to get some images. This image is of Rico 2 years on, his hair has grown back but the Chemo has made his teeth fall out. Rico High Fived me and now I have the contact details.
