THE LAST REACH FOR THE SUN...
I found this young sunflower growing out of a crack at the top of a wall, the stalk strong and straight, beautiful green leaves outstretched to gather the warm rays of the sun....perhaps the only time this plant will have the chance...i was told, the wall, the black slate tiled roof building and all the other old stone and tar-papered buildings in the surrounding area will be demolished, the people relocated... in the name of progress and modernization...they will have their memories...i will miss walking through these close knit back street areas of Nanchang, change comes quickly here...i will have my photos...(photo by Iain Dewar)
