Seedy Saturday

Lovely morning giving and receiving seeds, plants and tools at Seedy Saturday in Penrith
The event was run by community gardeners and supported by Freegle and PACT - and thanks to our hosts the Salvation Army.
People arriving were asked to plant an onion in the raised beds outside - hopefully they will see the light of day and go into the local food bank parcels.
In addition to lots of seeds coming and going, blackcurrant bushes, damson trees, plant food, a hoe and a strimmer changed hands. And people made up windowsill pea planters "Give peas a chance" and decorated egg shells!
There's more free events, visits and courses over spring, summer and autumn in Penrith and across all of Eden District in the Visiting Edible Gardens programme
