What an afternoon's rugby!
Ireland came to Cardiff with just one last hurdle between them and the Grand Slam, they would not be denied at home next week at home if they overcame Wales.
It was the game of the Six Nations without doubt. Thirty six phases of Irish play late into the second half and Wales smashed them back, and then smashed them back again! It was incredible stuff. It was the deciding factor in the game, and Wales came out 23-16 winners. Heroes, everyone of them!
They start third favourites for the championship next week. Ireland and England have a significant points difference on them, but we have Italy in Rome. Wales will have to try and rack up a second half points fest there and hope. England play last against a very poor French side, so they are probably the favourites to win the title.
You can't beat sport for pure theatre can you ...
