Curlew

Now that is what you call a beak! This Curlew was doing his thing-probing in the mud down at the park. I can't imagine how a reasonably sized bird can just live off, matter found in the mud, I know lots of Crustacea and other such animals live deep in the mud, but I'll have to do more research & find exactly what. Anyway a fine bird in great shape, which is always lovely to see. The Wetland Centre today, can't wait...
