Welcome to Bali!

An early start with an alarm call at 5.30am!! We were being tendered ashore and the logistics of transporting the 1,600 passengers who were visiting the island, was well managed.

We did a whole day trip to visit Heritage sites, which included a traditional village, a temple complex (hundreds of steps), viewing rice paddies at the foot of a volcano whilst having lunch, also a 18th century pavilion that was once a centre of justice.

We ended up at a batik centre where we say the process of hand making this fabric. I bought a couple of metres of different designs of quality material. I should have also bought some of the lengths sold in the street markets (probably mass produced in China), as they were so colourful. But I didn’t  :0(

These young women were on their way to the temple to make their offerings to the gods :0)
