Solidity

Everyone knows the sad news. We knew it was coming but that doesn't help mitigate the sadness we're all feeling right now. This journal is still a day behind the real timescale of events but that seems irrelevant at the moment. I have to talk about today (Monday).

My only message tonight is to continue to hold the faith. This community is now bigger than the person who gave birth to it, much bigger than the company that created the site, and certainly much, much bigger than the brand name which must have played such a huge part in the current sad state of affairs. The community is blip - and I, for one, am determined that it will live on. I need you to carry on posting and even get new people on board. If we all turn to the lifeboats it's over. 

The good ship blip actually pretty much steers itself, as we've discovered this last week or so. I can't imagine anyone pulling the plug when we are the only real asset to offer potential rescuers. Let's show the business angels out there that we're actually a great proposition. 

The final irony is that there is more solidity in the intangible concept of the blip community than there is in all the infrastructure which runs it. That can quite easily be replaced! The spirit of this place cannot. 

Finally, if you are blipping positively tonight, looking to the future and a continuance of blip in some form or other, then please tag that blip with #blipforever. Let's build a groundswell of positivity. It's our main hope right now. 

And thanks for all the support over the weekend. I'm still crazy busy!
