Acer Palmatum Purpureum
Ignored the weather forecast and went out after lunch and stayed out till 5 pm. Head down most of the time: weeding and trimming the edges of the grass border. Couldn't believe that the afternoon had passed so quickly. It was very pleasant out there. Reasonably mild and a very watery sun came out now and again. The birds were happy and tuneful and so were we. CH is making another cold frame which will be put to good use.
Finished the last of my daughter's almond cake for our tea time treat.
I bought this little Acer at the back end to prune into a good shape and have been overwintering it in the greenhouse. It's just been re-potted and has started to open up. Isn't it fun with the illustration effect?
