The Fall Guy

Teams of men with serious saws descended on the garden today - cutting off the dead bits.  When those dead bits are 60 ft up, you need serious men with serious saws.

Two whole dead trees came down, this one being the 60ft remnant of the poplar whose main trunk had left us with a quandary.  

This is a photo from A Long Way Away where everyone, except one, was standing. I guess being under the tree focusses the mind on getting the final cut perfect; which it was and the tree neatly dropped into the lower garden.
