Corners

There was a discussion here in Theimpinside HQ about what defined a corner, we decided it would have to be less than 180 degrees, but would generally be considered a right angle...as in the corner of a room. I then started thinking that nature doesn't really do right angles, yet humans are obsessed by them. This is probably one of the reasons it took us so long to invent the wheel, despite being surrounded by circles, we were working on the square model. It's also surprising that geometric shapes, such as squares, feature heavily in native art.

This Navaho rug illustrates the "Grey Mountain" pattern believed to date back thousands of years, it uses a series of interlocking squares and triangles and more corners than you can shake a stick at.

Thanks to Chantler63 for hosting Mono Monday this month.
